how to fix HP 1730 monitor buzz?

My monitor used to work well, the only thing was that when barely turned on it would buzz, but after a minute the buzz would dissapear, but today I tried to turn it on and it did'nt, now it makes a buzz noise, the screen flashes a little and then turns off and on in cycles, how can I fix this?

I have a HP w1907 19" monitor comes on for approx 1hr then goes to standby. When you switch back on comes up vga settings then back to standby in a split second all caps look ok but slight buzz/crackle at/around power supply.
If you switch back on again exact thing happens over and over. anyone any Ideas. Johnmcg

Check your capacitors, inside the monitor. 1000mf 10volts and 1000mf 25volts, 820mf 25volts. That might need to be replacement.

I have the same problem, I replaced the capacitors and now I get the image to display but the back-light wont turn on, I am pretty sure the problem is in the power source but I don't know exactly what is the problem, any kind of help would be highly appreciated, thanks!

Hey T-elos you're awesome, the same fix worked for me. Thanks a million!

Actually, you just replace 3 capacitors and it will spring back to life. 1x1000uf 16v and 2x220 25v

I have 6 of these, all that I purchased broken and fixed like this.

It seems like the power supply has a problem though, because the screen seems to work but the power in not working, maybe a capacitor or sth.

I think the buzzing was the monitor starting to fail, now it has gone completely. Fixing them is not an option best replace it.
