I have just bought a second hand machine. No instructions were included.

turn the machine on by using the on/off button
load clothes in the drum
select the programme
select the dryer time
select the wash temperature
press start/cancel
wait...
to cancel press and hold the start/cancel button

think you may have to purchase a manual from the hotpoint website as the wd42 is different from the wd420.hope this helps.

Go to the hotpoint website www.hotpoint.co.uk I've done this for you tel: Enquiries 0870 150 60 70 then ask them if the book for WD42 also covers the WD420 your machine.

if so it's downloadable. How to? it's easy!.
open the website
www.hotpoint.co.uk
then select at the top 'AFTER'
then select Download instruction books.
Select from the left list [hotpoint] washerdryers. then select down the list WD42.
Then select at the next screen select at the bottom 'view pdf' look through the book and see If it's right then come out and download it.
