Hi my durabrand DBDVR01 dvd recorder seems to have died. Hello comes on when powered up, but fails to responed at all to any of the buttons either on the front or with the remote. Theres also a tape stuck in it that i can not get out

Would a capacitor on the power board of a portable DVD player possibly be at fault for not being able to re-charge it's battery? I have about 6 of the same dvd players with all of the same problem. They function fine with a new battery but cannot re-charge it.

Carlos. The problem is due to a manufacturing defect in the unit's internal power-supply. All you need to do is replace just a single (undersized) capacitor on it! I wrote a step-by-step repair brief explaining how.
