How can I fix Dyson DC04 brush drive?

Dyson DC04 brush fault: brush rotates freely when 'disconnected' but is not driven when 'connected' although there is resistance to movement, i.e. drive belt ok. Is there a separate motor for the brush? How do I proceed after removing 10 screws and still unable to remove housing?

Clutches available on ebay complete with both belts

You may find the answer on this website: www.bobsroswellvacuum.com There are two belts on a Dyson DC04. It sounds like your inner belt that goes from the motor shaft to the clutch is broken. You might even find a free how-to video link!
