Go, with PEN AND PAPER /PAD and your registration document, and of course the vehicle, to your nearest, or any Renault dealer and they will input a new code and explain how to do it in the future. Ask the who's doing it to write down the input sequence [hence the pen, paper/pad ] it cost anything from about £6 to £10. they take the unit out to look at the code number on the side and then by computer link up enter that number and back comes the code. keep the entry and code details in the house where you know where to find them, you will need them if you have to take the battery out at any time.
For reference;
if you have a damaged number plate.
Remember you now need the reg doc for a number plate there is a code number on it they have to enter when the plates are made up and they cannot make up plates without that info.
