heating off, water coming out of the overflow, pressure gauge dropping to zero

When starting up banging noises from left side of boiler when flame is lit and boiler running when it gets hot it is some times quite, when it switches on again after thermostat cuts in it starts banging again, it has all ways done this noise from new but not as loud as it is now?
