after diy service problem with spark plugs 94 18lx mondeo?

Done a service oil air and plugs after which car started chugging instead of running smoothly. Have since checked the plugs and noticed that the plastic on one of them has broken. Could this cause me problems if some of the plastic falls into the spark plug hole? If so how do i remedy this?

Rob again Tammy
Sometimes you can get a new plug that's no good I have had that before.
The other thing I've just been told with Mondeo's is the HT [Plug ] leads. Break down/intermitant sparking is a common problem. Get a new set of FORD leads [ including the coil lead 5 leads in all] from a FORD AGENT SPARES SHOP they are dear about £22 but are said to be better than the cheaper replacements. Remember to change the leads one at a time so you don't mix the firing sequence.

If the plastic was off the lead cap then check that's not shorting on the engine. Best in dark it shows better.
Did you check the gaps on the new plugs. if not new and the ends are really burnt and deformed/thin change them.
If you get a misfire 'Bang' then one or two of your leads is on wrong plug Usually the longer ones can be easily crossed.
Sorry but it's trial and error.
