what is error 7 on a hoover A1 130 washing machine

basically its to do with the tacho magnet on the back of the motor if its faulty your motor ramps up to full spead to quickly and stops before burning out simple solution is to get the magnet and the surround (the wired bit) fit to your motor and you have your washer back with minimal cost

I was getting this same error message, error code 7, looked all over the net for a resolution, after fustration, tried disconnecting the mains, nothing, then pressed the first, third, and fifth button and turned the programme selector to the right, something happened, the time reset on the machine, and it started working fine.

After further investigation into this fault (error 7) I found the motor ramping up to full speed then cutting out on fault 7.
I suspected a problem with the tacho so checked the cables as the fault seemed to be intermittent.
I found a bad connection at the point where the wires enter the tacho so i was unable to make a joint.
pushed cable right upto tacho and fault cleared so need new tacho but now unable at present to find anywhere that sells them at present without having to pay for the motor.

It actually doesnt mean much. The fault coding system on nearly all makes of machine do not give an accurate indication of what is actually wrong. The manufacturers actually keep these codes secret (im not kidding) and will only release a translation of the codes to their own favored dealerships. ITs just nonsense designed to further mislead the customer into believing that their new machine can diagnose any faults within itself.
Error 7 could mean any one of at least 9 known faults.
