Hello all,
my washing machine started to trip the electric out about two days ago, and I have found that the dryer element was burnt out. I have found a website that sells these but my question is why did it burn out? Is it due to too much use or is the thermostat dead? and is it worth buying a replacement stat as well.

I had a similar problem and found that the heatshield that the element sits in was damaged and caused the element to shake/vibrate which eventually caused it to fail. Check the heat shield fitted to the top of the heat duct for wear around the cutouts into which the element fits.

the fan has probably jammed, so the heat isnt getting blown through, the stats have probably blown
