My LG intello washer 7.5kg is leaking water out the bottom. Whats wrong?

about a week ago my washing machine stopped spinning round and had a burning smell. I called the repair man and he said to check for money in the filter. Apparently money blocks the fan in an LG and stops the machine working. Sure enough there was a 1p in there. I took it out and my machine started working again fine. Then a few days later I noticed little pools of water appearing from under the washing machine. I wasnt sure if it was a leak happening when the machines in use, so I havent used it for 3 days now to see what would happen and its still leaking water out the bottom. Im 9 months pregnant so I cant pull the machine out to have a look to see where its coming from. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this is? Could it be connected to the 1p getting stuck?

Hi Lucy, I have the same machine with the same problem, I have taken twenty two pence in small change from the filter but still have a small leak when using my normal cycle. I'm about to try and do a self fix using info from this site. In case you have not come across the details here they are.... at least you wont have to pull the machine out... and best of luck with you imminent arrival.
This is what I found on the site
LG Washer leak fixed
On the front of the washer at the bottom, behind the square panel, is the access to the pump filter. (Water will escape when the large screw cap is undone). There is a rubber o-ring which keeps the water from escaping through this cap. In my washer, small amounts of water were leaking through this cap during the wash. There was no leak unless water was under pressure during the wash.

I put teflon plumbers tape under the rubber o-ring. I separated the cap into two components by prying it apart with a screwdriver. I cut a thin piece of plastic from a CD cover into the shape of a small circle to use as packing between the two components of the cap. In this way the o-ring provides a tighter seal. Also the areas where contact is made were cleaned.

As far as I can tell this has fixed the problem. Possibly the drawer was leaking also - as described previously.

Hi Lucy. probably nothing to do with the coin. You do need to get the machine pulled out so rope in some geezer or a muscular girlie. You will also need the machine tilted up or the rear cover removed.
Check the doorseal thoroughly. Check all hoses and hose connections - stretch them to find pinhole leaks. Closely inspect the pump, particularily where the pump chamber and pump body mate. Look at the seals around the heater and thermostat at rear of drum. Check the detergent dispenser and dispenser outlet pipe for blockage and overflow. Check for rusty spray around where the pulley shaft enters the outer drum - early indication of seal and bearing failure. Machine may also leak when spinning or washing if the water level is too high-caused by a problem with the pressure switch. You may have to run the machine with the cover(s) off to try to identify the source of the leak. good luck with the baby.
