How can we make the Panasonic DVD player stop doing random things?

The volume button on the remote causes the DVD player to stop. Power shuts off when the play button is hit. Buttons on the DVD player cause the same problems.

If there is ROM corruption, it may be re-flashed by a Panasonic service agent using their Panasonic service recovery disc.

There are specific recovery discs for certain models and it is also important that only the latest version is used.

Takes about 20 seconds to do.

Try a system reset:
Hold Tune Mode button on device while pressing 10/-/-- button on the remote. This will reset the machine to factory setup.
