Sky Magic Eye?

I have just bought a replacement magic eye for my upstairs TV. The TV is correctly set updownstairs to receive this - the instructions said that we should just be able to plug in the new one but no red light is visible. Can you help?

I have a sky box in the bedroom. I also have a tv in the lounge which has a magic eye so that we can bring up the sky menu etc.
Yesterday, we found we could not get sky on the lounge tv. It works quite well in the bedroom where the box is.
We used to press 6 on the tv remote in the lounge and then point the sky remote at the "magic eye" to bring up sky menu.

Also have a hd dvd player in lounge which will not play either.

RF2 Power has to be switched on in the hidden installer's menu. To access it:

Select 'Services'
Select Option 4 (System Set-up)
Enter (briskly) the following: 0, 1, Select
Installer's Menu should be displayed.
Turn RF2 Power 'On'
Save Settings.

You can test the eye directly at RF2 output to ensure it's working. ie. light illuminates.

The copper core to co-axial plugs should be crimped or soldered, to ensure good electrical contact for global eye power.

(Note: If RF2 cable paases through any aerial amplification/distribution then this may prevent operation, unless it has the Global Eye by-pass feature.)
