How can I fix my Fisher & Paykel IW811 washing machine?

My Fisher & Paykel IW811 washing machine stops and starts to beep every second during Rinse 2 cycle and comes up with 'Error 136'. Can you help with this problem? Thanks, Colin

My Fisher & Paykel IW811 washing machine started beeping every second while idle. The screen displays "I need Service - Fault Code 49". I've tried the following:
1. turing off the machine & unplugging it for a few minutes
2. relieving the pressure on the inlet hoses with power switched on then powering up again
3. cleaning the inlet filters at the machine end of the hot & cold inlet hoses.
None of these have made any difference.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Fault code 136 is motor stall fault. Can be caused by several things. Bad wiring connection from panel to motor. Bad motor windings. Seized bearings or something stopping the bowl rotating. Faulty RPS circuit board on top of the motor. Fault in the controller box. Does the machine agitate ok when during the wash section? If so, then it is hardly likely to be any fault above except the fault in the controller. Expensive to replace so you may want to get a service person in to check that is the reason before spending the money on a new controller.
