How do I fix an AEG F3A Dishwasher?

An error code 30 is appearing due to water collecting in base of machine. Have repeatedly drained out water to reset but it continues to fill up. It was lasting several weeks before anti flood device was triggered but now it's after only a couple of days. A mechanic suggested it may be the "metering tank" causing the problem as it has blocked channels. He suggested replacing it but couldn't guarantee that would fix it. Is it worth trying to repair or would it be better to scrap it and get a new machine altogether. The dishwasher is 4 years old and not under any guarantee.

I have a AEG dishwasher. Error code 30 came up on the display and could not be deleted using the switches.
This dishwasher has a full sized plastic undertray that is designed to collect all drips, which is much better than old models with a steel frame that let any drips etc soak into the kitchen floor. In the middle of this undertray is a float and a microswitch. If the machine leaks any water the float lifts and activates the code 30, shuts the water inlet valve and the waste pump empties the machine of all water. Excellent idea!
Code 30 is easily reset just by tilting the machine about 45 degrees in any direction. Some water (a cupful) will come out from the undertray and the error code will then be reset once machine is level and switched back on. But you MUST find the source of the water in the undertray. Maybe a loose hose or a leaking pump - repair as appropriate.

regenaration doser (metering tank!) chambers up the side have been known to cause base flooding.not that big a job to do as a diy project.part not that expensive.obviously you need to make sure there isn't a direct leak from somewhere into the base from a faulty component or seal.
