How do I know what phones are compatible with my 3 sim card?

I'm on a pay monthly contract with 3 but am wanting to get a new handset. I had an old phone 'unlocked' but my 3 sim doesn't work with it. How can I tell what phones are compatible? What do I need to look for? I was really after a Motorola RAZR but don't want to waste time buying if it won't work. Any advice?

Motorola V3 razr doesn't work with a 3 sim card as it's a 2G phone, MUST be 3G to work.

However you can get a Motorola V3x which WILL work with 3 but must be the V3x if you do want a razr phone. Either buy it on 3 or it must be UNLOCKED.

2G phones work from 900mhz to 1800mhz, the 3 network runs on 2100mhz so NONE 3G phones take the sim but give no signal.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

You should be able to get a Motorola RAZR either only compatable with 3, or be able to unlock one to make it compatible with 3.

Hate to say it, but sounds like the other one you tried to unlock wasn't done properly!

Good luck..
