The trap from the condensing drain is blocked Greenstar SRi?

I have a worchester greenstar SRi - It has been making gurggling noise as if air is trapped - turns out to be a blockage in the condensing drain - The blockage is a fine grey speckled particles which I assume must come from the heat exchanger - does this mean something inside the boiler is faultly.

The boiler is 3 years old and yes we live in a hard water area. However, the condensed water is the water vapour from the gas flue therefore I do not understand how being a hard water area makes any difference

Not necessarily.

How old is it? Do you live in a hard water area? Do you have a water softener? Was the system fully cleansed and inhibited before the boiler was installed? When was it last serviced?
