Potterton Netaheat 10/16 getting very hot?

Hello,

I was wondering if any one with a netaheat or experience of one can tell me if the outer casing should get so hot. It is so hot that you can not touch it. It is only hot around with pilot window area. It gets cooler towards the top.

The case gets hot even just after a few minutes. Your help would be very appreciated.

Potterton Technical Department told Me 20 years ago when I queried this regarding My own Boiler that the Boiler Casing can reach a Temperature of 95 Degrees - This is `Totally O.K.` as far as they were concerned - But I would imagine that this would NOT be allowed if Designed Nowadays.

I am a Heating Engineer and I have still got the Potterton Netaheat Electronoc 10 / 16 Boiler - Working Perfectly.

I realise that as a Heating Professional I SHOULD have replaced it with a High Efficiency Boiler - BUT I don`t want a Boiler that WILL Malfunction who knows how many times in its lifetime - Which will NOT be anything like 20 Years plus !
