how can i fix my boiler?

we have an older type baxi boiler when we swith either the water or heating on the baxi fires up for a couple of minutes then shuts down & will not fire up for a couple of hours it seems that it thinks the system is hot enough

It sounds as if there is no water flow. Check your pump.

It could be a few things, Fan, Air pressure switch or over heat stat.
