when we switch on our diswasher no matter what cycle it is on all that happens is an intermittent hum every second or so, have held the programme button for 3 seconds until it lights up the two end lights as instructed in the manual but nothing happens. please help

Hi Jimmy, it sounds like the drain pump may be jammed.When you select a programme and shut the door, the first action is the drain pump.Take off the plinth,then the silver cover.Turn off all power.drain the inside by hand ,witha small cup or sponge.look underneath and the pump is in front on the right.Take out the 1 screw and GENTLY rock and pull.See if there is any debris but be careful, it may be glass.Refit in reverse if the impellor is free.All the best.
