I had the same 'problem' when I got my Dimension.
Click START then RUN and type 'msconfig' (without the quotes) in the box and click OK.
Click the STARTUP tab on the right of the new window that opens and look down the list for the reference to Dell and click the tick so that it disappears.
Click APPLY and you will be asked to restart your PC, do this and it should be gone.
