How can I fix my Hotpoint WMA63P Washing Machine?

The machine is jumping programmes. It just does its own thing. Sometimes it doesn't wash properly or it might not do all the rinses. It doesn't spin properly and when it has finished the door will not unlock. If the machine is switched off at the plug the door can then be openned but when it is switched back on the lock light flashes and if the door is shut it locks again.

Have given it a check over. The brushes look fine (that seems to be the usual problem). Can't see anything, hoses etc look fine. The pump is working ok.

There is a black box inside the front at the bottom, this makes a clicking noise.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi There - I have exactly the same problem. I thought it was something to do with the door lock so I got a guy round to fix it and he agreed. He charged me £74 to replace the door lock and it's made no difference whatsoever - I am totally peeved!

Sounds like it must be a design fault.

Sounds like you have a faulty module, it could work out cheeper to get Hotpoint to repair it, their call out charge is astronomical about £99 but the cost of replacing the module could be even higher.
