my son has installed 'gimp2' now when I try to restart all I get is the message 'hardware initiate failed. please check device!!! The bois does not be installed. press to continue" pressed g and then i'm asked to load system discs - tried repairing windows xp keep going round in circles - please tell me I haven't lost all my work HELP

Hi, installing the GIMP wont break your computer so it sounds like the problem is elsewhere. Remember when trying to repair Windows with the CD not to select the first option "repair with recovery console " go to next stageof installing and when Windows tells you it has found an installation and would you like to repair it say yes there.
