hi mine did the same last month i was lucky as i studied electronics for my radio exams. anyway the problem with mine was just an electrolytic capacitor on the psu circuit had dried up/ blown you can tell if the top of the case of the cap is split open or bulgiing out. it was c12 a 1000microF AT 6.3V hope this helps
