I have the same problem. In MY case, since the motor WILL spin out the water between wash & rinse, I am betting it's the timer controller. The controller it totally mechanical.. inside is just a series of metal contact points. Probably one or two are dirty or frozen. I am going to perform surgery on mine later today. It may be easier for you to just buy a new controller. I suggest you take a photo of the wiring before you begin replacement/repair.
