Hoover 1100 tearing clothes?

It appears that we have something in the drum of our Hoover 1100 washing machine that is catching on clothes when it is doing a fast spin and tearing them. You can hear a noise of something hitting the sides when it is spinning. This does not happen on a slow spin. Any idea how to get it out?

probably a bra underwire which has gone into the space between drums.
Two options. Either disconnect the sump hose (the big one which connects to the filter or pump) from bottom of drum and try to wiggle the item out. If that doesnt work you'll have to disconnect and remove the heater which should give another vantage point. Use a torch and a long thin stick to move the item to the sump outlet. When replacing the heater ensure it locates properly in its retaining clip inside the drum. This stops it contacting the moving drum-V. IMPORTANT.

Repair and service your own washing machine. Go to www.2ndwave.co.uk/manual.html

See it a lot on here - it's usually a bra wire - some people manage to pull it out through one of the holes in the inner drum - others have to resort to trying to remove it from the drain hole by taking the back cover off and disconnecting the hose. Job often given to the man of the house - don't know why.
