zanussi washing machine?

Does the drain hose on a zanussi washer have a small plastic ball in it,or has mine got one there by mistake??My washer stopped working & upon taking it apart we discovered the ball & wondered if it should be there!?

yes the ball is called a detergent recovery ball and should be inside the main tub hose to the drain pump
