my dvd drive will not read any disc, it spins but does not recognised any disc. it is a packard bell easy note p4.

hi sid. is your drive making a continuious
whew,whew,whew type of sound when attempting to read the disk? if so the chances are it is knackered as this happened to two of mine twice. i tried cleaning the lense and sucking out any dust, but the same thing was happening. had to buy a new one. i know this is not a fix, but it may stop you messing around with it.
