Blowing house fuse?

why would a dishwasher blow a ring fuse of a house every time the soap release is triggered? Any ideas??

Short circuit in the electrical system that causes the soap door to open - possibly a defective solenoid but I'm only guessing - when the controls ask the door to open - BANG!
