heating fault on hotpoint ultima 1000 error code e14?

Hello
I have a hotpoint ultima 1000, wm74.
It has started to come up with error code
E14, A fault with the water heating has occured, call for a sevice engineer.
Please can any body help? Is it probably just the heating element at fault and are these easy enough to change?
Kind regards

Yes E14 is a heater fault and they are situated in the base of the front plate, which meens you have to remove the front consol panel and the front panel to get to it. Remove the lid by taking out the screws at the back, Pull the soap drawer out as far as it will come then hold the body of it and give it a yank and it should come free, now remove the screws in the drawer opening and by slotting the fasicia panel to the right it should come free(disconect the wiring attachments).Open the door and remove the wire band retaining clip at the top of the opening (lever it off with a small screwdriver)remove the wire band and pull the door seal off the front panel. Undo the 3 screws under the front panel and then the 3 screws on top, disconect the door switch and set the panel on one side. The heater is located under the black water shield just under the drum opening, you may need to fight to get the old heater out once you have loosened the center nut, but it will come out. Before you take it out make sure it is at fault because you could have a job refitting it otherwise (a new heater will be no problem to fit).

Power off, remove back cover. Heater is located at bottom of drum. If testing with a multimeter, disconnect the wiring and take a resistance reading across the terminals - should be around 20 ohms. If heater is blown (broken internal heater wire) it will give an infinite resistance. There should be no continuity between the either terminal and the metal sheath of the heater - if there is, there's an internal short circuit. When removing heater, disconnect wiring, undo central mounting nut and prise it out of its rubber seal - may require some effort. Replace heater, use sealant when refitting rubber seal and ensure it is fully pushed into the recess in the backplate. Make sure the element locates into mounting bracket inside the drum.(look inside the element with a torch and you will see mounting bracket). This bracket ensures that the moving inner drum doesnt strike the element and damage it.
