how do i light my pilot light and keep it on stelrad ideal sprint combi?

when i light my pilot and release the gas it wont stay on ive been told its the therma coupling ?

You have been told correctly. The THERMO COUPLING is a flame failure device. When it fails itself it will stop you turning on the main burners because it can no longer register the heat from the pilot flame.
Replacable--cost about £10-15 if you diy
