Hot water only?

We have tried to set our Potterton EP3000 for hot water only by pushing the hot water button onto timer and having the central heating in the off position. The hot water will not heat without the central heating being switch on at the same time.

It is possible that you have 2 motorised valves one for dhw and one for heating and the dhw one has a synchron motor inside that has probably blown.
