your drivers didn't actually go down, they were resident on your old hard drive and are no longer on your Pc.
If you feel brave open the pc and get the details off the audio card it'll be the card you plug the speakers into or it'll be part of the motherboard in either case get as many details as you can, you want maker and part number then go online to the maker's site and see if you can download new drivers. Sometimes you can get generic drivers, It may be possible to go into your control panel and reinstall the card, this may prompt windows to set it up with a set of generic plug and play drivers, these are only suggestions, try them and see if anyone else answers your post.
