My 7 year old 6.5 fisher and paykel smartdrive excellence has stopped going it tries to spin then it comes up with lights on front panel from lh to right (xxoooxox) x being light on o being no light on I think it is model gw612

Mike, you are the man, had the same problem and read your answer. Luckily didn't need the WD40 just needed to loosen the switch. Thanks heaps

It sounds like your balance switch if faulty (similar problem to my 7.5) Remove all power first, If you can remove the front panel, then remove the large control box via possibly the one screw, under that should be a small switch block with 2 wires coming from it. Remove this switch and you may find that the small detent is stuck. try some WD40 or other spray and try to free this switch. Put it all together and hopefully alls well!!!!!!
