hotpoint dishwasher BF1620 keeps shorting electric?

Once switched on, within a short period of time, the machine appears to make the electricity go off. What can be wrong with it??

The machine has an overflow pipe to a tray below when this fill with water the wire can get wet even though there is a float stitch to detect this The machine is pobably overflowing internally
