There is a smell coming up from the kitchen sink plug-hole. I have a Sanivite 3 so I'm guessing there is food stuck in it. I've tried running water and bleach through it but the smell comes straight back. Any ideas about how I can clean it out?

wouldn't attempt to clean it yourself...go to sanivite website and get in a service engineer. You think the smell is bad now...wait til it is open!!!!!!!!!!

have been advised that turning the sanivite off, carefully pouring in Harpic limescale remover (it will stain stainless steel) and leaving for half an hour helps dissolve a lot of the crap that's accumulated.

I do this every month or when there is the slightest smell and seems to work. I also get it serviced every 12 months to make sure!

You don't want your sanivite breaking down...believe me!
