open the door and try to lock it so theres nothing obstructing the lock from working,if it locks your door needs re-packing,if it dosnt your locksrip or cylinder needs replacing,for a quick fix if it does lock when open and if it has shoot or hook bolts you can take top and bottom keeps off your door frame,if still dosnt work take center keep off aswel and try again,as i said this is a quick fix just to get your door locked for tonight,you will still need problem sorting asap.hope this helps
