My dvd player is B&W and image is very "scribbled"?

I have a Aspire Digital Progressive Scan DVD Player AD N82OB. When I first acquired it from someone else, it worked fine, yet I didn't have the remote for it. So I was trying to code one of thsoe universal remotes to it, and was also plugging the wires in (turned it upside down and vertical a few times while it was playing)...etc...Now the image seems to be B&W and I can barely look at the TV for more than 30 seconds because the "scribbling"/"blinking" (like a horrible connection) is something that would give even the most healthy person an epileptic seizure. Lol....Here's a picture I tried to take of the problem.

check that you are using a high quality scart cable. Gold plated ones are the best.

Only joking mate, hehe, try switching the AV channel with the remote control, usually the coloured buttons change it once your in AV mode.
