upvc window drainage holes?

we recently had new upvc windows fitted. the outer covering 'beading' covers the drainage holes that were there. the fitters said this was acceptable. but a friend has said these holes need to be uncovered. can someone please advise as i have 3 windows that are covered.

hi kelly these holes should be uncovered thats why they are there your fitters are cowboys who dont know wot they are talking about if the window section fills with water 2 things will happen 1 you will get water come inside & 2 your double glazed unit will break down and the guarantee will be void for both your house insurance and your double glazed units. i have been fitting windows for 25 years and know wot problems this can cause. many thanks ian
