How can I fix my Panasonic RX-DS45 CD player?

When I insert a CD into my Panasonic RX-DS45 portable stereo CD system and press "CD" and the forward button, it does not play, just makes a tired mechanical sound as if it is trying to operate. The display says "CD 1" but no matter what other button I push nothing else appears or happens. When I open the CD cover the CD is spinning slowly, but it doesn't seem to fit as snugly on the metal spindle.
I'm afraid it has had an accident; it was working fine before the cleaning crew came through. Is there any hope for fixing it?

Replace the spindle motor. Which is the motor that actually spins the disk. A word of warning though. Be extremely careful when trying to remove the spindle plate (the round plate that the disk rotates on) if it is not removed straight or if while removing it you buckle the plate the disks will spin with a wobble. Thus rendering all the hard work for nothing. So be extra careful.

I've got same CD player and when I turn it on I can change function (CD, Tape, Radio) but all of them don't play ! Even radio is not working... Yesterday everything was OK... What should I do ?
