Panasonic VHS NV HD600?

I have receive an error code [F03] on the display of my Panasonic VHS NV HD600.
I have tried to disconnect the power and then turn it on again, but still have the same error code [F03].
The VHS is not operate at all.
Will some one please help.

If you take off the tinplate cover-under the vcr,you may find etched in the plastic moulding-a basic drawing showing alignment of the mechanism--above chassis,and below chassis.It is important that all timing marks all line up with all other alignment marks-failure to correctly set up mechanism could result in broken components,that would not be possible these days to obtain easily....

F03 is a very common problem with that mechanism.
It's usually due to a split in the motor coupling, it's a tiny plastic part hidden inside the worm gear on the loading motor.
Cost of part is a few pennys. Labour about 15-30 mins work.

However, the mechanism is precisely aligned to individual teeth on the gears. If you put the alignment out during replacement you will not be able to correct it without a service manual.

A simple repair for an engineer but now VCR's are cheap, may not be cost effective to have repaired. Repair cost about £40-£50.
