I have a Mitsubishi HS-M58 vcr and the video cassette is jammed in it?

I have a Mitsubishi HS-M58 vcr and the video cassette is jammed in it. I have taken the cover off, and tried to push the cassette up and out, but this does not work.
The VCR is not registering that there is a cassette in it (from the display). There is about 1-2 feet of tape out of the cassette.
Any suggestions

It's the loading belt - unplug, turn the machine upside down, take of the feet and the bottom plate screws, remove the bottom plate, refit the belt (or get a new one if it's broken) and hey presto it's fixed!

PS. If you unload by hand make sure it's unplugged, you wouldn't want either an electric shock or your fingers wrapped around the loading mechanism.

Could be caused by several faults including simply a bad tape.

However, I seem to remember that model having a modification kit for either the Pinch Gear or/and Front Loading Gear snapping. Either way, probably cost a lot to repair.

You could try unloading the cassette by turning the loading gear by hand.
