ive just gt the xmas tree out and the transformer is missing, checked everywhere and cant find it. My question is can i cut the ends of the wires and put a plug on it. Id buy more but its a 7ft pre-lit tree and i cant afford to buy another. ive checked online for the tansformer but no luck its model number id DB-180-24 model number 240105.

No help for your immediate problem, but who thinks a tool to locate the blown bulb on xmas tree lights would be useful and how much would they be prepared to pay for it??

The missing transformer reduces the 240V electricity to something considerably less like 24V.
Putting a plug on it will blow up the tree!!
Try somewhere like maplins for a replacement transformer
