My mother has an Ideal Mexico boiler which is old, but in reasonably good nick.

Over the past few days it has cut out several times, but has relit and fired up first time.

Now, the pilot will light, but will go out as soon as the control knob is released.

Any advice muh appreciated

it may well be the thermocouple most pluming spares shops stock a universal one that fits a large variaty of boilers

Great Boiler,They dont make them like this anymore.Anyway almost certainly the t/couple has packed in.I even think a universal type fit this boiler so not a hard or expensive job.T/couple will cost about 3 quid.
