How do I fix my tv?

I thought the fuse had blown as the television was on one morning and I went out of the room, came back in and it had turned itself off. It was plugged into a socket which also had my cd player in the other side and that had turned off too. I removed the plugs and plugged them into another socket. The cd player worked again fine. The television hasn't worked since and nor has the socket that they had been plugged into. I have changed the fuse on the tv and this hasn't made any difference. It doesn't receive any power whatsoever, I cant even get it to click when I press the on button.

Probably the wiring in your wall socket has been arcing and taken out either an internal fuse or semi-conductor in the TV's regulated power supply.

Most of the parts which fail in TV power supplies have specific safety ratings, so best to call a TV engineer.

You'll also need to have the socket/terminal wiring checked it may be a fire hazard.
