What is default security code for 14 inch matsui portable tv, how can I enter it as the remote has been misplaced

I have just aquired a second hand Matsui Portable TV with in-built video and can't get a universal remote control to work on it. I've not heard of security codes before - what does it mean? Do I have to key this in or something before I can programme the new remote? Any information would be gratefully received - please email me on martin@emmo.co.uk
