The heating element just glows red and no water enters, although the water is flowing as far as the inlet to the dishwasher.
Could it be the anti overflow electric valve?

blockage in sump.put it on its back and you will see a looped hose.pull 1 end off and blow hard down it.now refit.pull the other end off and blow hard down it.if there is a round dome bit in the filter inside,remove the filter.remove the screw in centre of dome bit.and 1 by 1 remove the syphon tubes and wash them out with hot water.refit parts and test
