Sharp XE-A102 Programming?

Throughout the manual it refers to pressing Letters to perform programing optins, but the keyboard has no letters. At the moment I want to change the printing format to tun off the journal feed so it only prints during an X or Z read. How do I do this?
Lindsay, December 2008
Lindsay, turn the key to PGM, this switches the till to programme mode. Press "2" button, this selects the part of the PGM menu that relates to printing. Then press the #/st which prepares the till for "machine code". Now the till is waiting for a series of 1's and 0's that will switch circuits on or off. There are 8 circuits labeled A-G. So if you now press 0 it will give you a space instead of a euro sign "A". Then you press 1 for not printing in Reg mode "B", then you press 0 "C", 0 "D", 0 "E", 0 "F", 0 "G", and 1 "H".
Press #/st to end machine code and again to print status.
