There is some sort of problem inside my low level close coupled toilet cistern - about 3 years old. I might be able to fix it, but cannot get the cover off to look inside due to the centre button flush mechanism which prevents the top coming off. Must be straightforward but I cannot figure it out.

Try unscrewing the centre push as this normally secures the top to the cistern. Normally the outer ring of the push will turn
