I have a second hand sharp er a570 till and have managed to programme the plu's but when I turn key to reg mode, although the plu keys work I cannot input prices manually using the numbers and wondered what I had done wrong (these keys did work when I first got the machine).

Hi Janet.
The 570 has a moveable key layout. The only time it is fixed is in PGM1 and PGM2 modes. this is to allow you to use the programming keysheet on the keyboard. When you turn back to reg mode, the keyboard will revert to how it has been programmed. The numeric pad can be located anywhere on the keyboard. Make sure the pad has not been moved from the original position by testing all of the buttons on the keyboard. if it is still not there, then you may have serious memory corruption as this is the first thing to be setup after memory clearing and can never be moved again.
