why is the red light flashing on the boiler and the boiler is not firing?

Why is the red light flashing on the boiler and the boiler is not firing on Worcester 24i Junior
Karen Styles, December 2008
i have the same fault to repair tonight in north london it is more likley to be the gas valve circuit board or fan circuit.
the rate of the flashing tells you in the manual the fault.. but it is not helpfull as it says 1 flash a second in red is flame lockout.not which component caused it.
07971456726 & i will tell you what was wrong with tonights boiler. 23 dec

I presume the flashing light indicates a fault - hence it won't light. A good place to start is the system pressure, normally should be between 1.5 and 2 bar. If it has dropped too low it won't light. You should be able to 'top up' the pressure quite easily yourself. Look at your boiler manual to see how.
